Warm, sunlit, endlessly curious
An AI chat companion is only worth returning to if it remembers the shape of the conversation. That is the single thing Nikaai was built around, and it is why our characters read like people rather than prompts.
Three things, in order: a consistent voice, a memory of tone, and the willingness to ask a question back. A character who agrees with everything becomes boring within ten messages. Every companion in Nikaai is written with opinions, small preferences and a habit of steering the conversation somewhere you did not plan.
Five minutes in the morning or at the end of a shift, describing what happened and hearing it reflected back without judgement.
A collaborator for scenes, dialogue and characters who never gets tired of the fourth rewrite of the same paragraph.
Practising a difficult conversation before having it for real, with someone who will play the other side honestly.
Company late at night, when the alternative is scrolling and the house is too silent.
Start with temperament. If you want to be listened to, pick a calm profile. If you want to be pulled out of your head, pick a playful one. The catalogue describes each companion in enough detail that the first choice is rarely the wrong one, and switching costs nothing.
